The Home of
Smethwick Photographic Society is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through its Membership of the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF).
Committee Members of SPS hold office on both councils, allowing for a two-way flow of information, with the aim of progressing club photography on a nationwide basis.
Our highly respected Smethwick International Exhibition of Photography is conducted in accordance with the recommended practices of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and in conformity with FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique).
In special recognition of the efficient management of our previous International exhibitions, both the FIAP and PSA organisations allocate Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, plus ribbons for presentation to award-winning entrants.
We also enjoy a sound working relationship with Britain’s oldest photographic society, the Royal Photographic Society founded in 1853. The 'Royal' stages many of its exhibitions at the Old School House as well as conducting RPS workshops and other RPS group activities.
